Employee State Insurance

Employee state insurance is managed by the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) which is an autonomous body created by the law under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. It is for health insurance of Indian workers. Those entities having 10 or more than 10 employees taking wages upto Rs. 15000 a month are mandatorily required to register under ESIC. ESIC registration can be done through us online. Under ESIC scheme, employer contributes 4.75% of the total monthly salary and employee needs to contribute just 1.75% of their salary every month. If salary of the employee is less than Rs. 100 per day, in that case the employee is exempted from contributing to ESIC fund.

The documents required for the registration are –
A registration certificate of:

  •   Factories Act
  •   Shops and Establishment Act
  • Certificate of Registration (for company), Partnership deed (for Partnership firm) MOA and AOA of the company List of all the employees along with their compensastion details PAN Card of the Entity and PAN card of all Employees A cancelled cheque of the Bank Account of the Company List of Directors and shareholders of the Company

    After the registration ESI Returns have to be filed twice a year. The following documents are required for the filing of the returns: Register of Attendance of the Employees along with details of wages

  • Register of any accidents which have happened on the premises of the business Monthly returns and challans
